Solution: 

The answer to the fourth question is incorrect. It is hotter over the top of the fire than at the same distance on the sides.
This is not because of the conduction of heat in the upward direction, it is because of the convection process.

When we put a fire in a place the air in the fire gets heated up and because hot air is light it gets moves in the upward direction so to fill up the gaps cold air from the side of the fire rushes in. As the top of the fire is covered by hot air, it feels hotter over the top of the fire than at the same distance on the sides.

Hence, the correct option is (C).
