Is consumption of fuel and electricity an intermediate consumption ????

Dear student, Yes it is, if electricity and fuel is used for industrial purpose i.e. for producing goods. In other words, if electricity and fuel both is being used as input for further processing then it is intermediate consumption. For example - Production of steel and other metals through heating process in which electricity is used and fuel is also used to produce fuel products. And if both fuel and electricity is used for household purpose then it is final consumption because no production of goods is happening in that case and no value is being added. Hope it helps. It depends if a firm is consuming fuel and electricity then it would be a intermediate cost for firm but on the other hand if household consume fuel and electricity then it will be a final consumption. Now if have any doubt you can ask
