Inspiteof the frogs crass cacophony how could he emerge as the winner?
Dear Student,
The Frog emerged victorious as he, very cleverly, was successful not only in eliminating his competition, but also using her to make a profit. It is evident in the poem that he is jealous of the nightingale's success, as he has no audience that he can enrapture. However, the frog was cunning enough to manipulate the nightingale and use her talent to his advantage, while slowly eating into her happiness and confidence by constant criticisms and harsh practise. The poem goes on to show that it is these tools of manipulation, deceit and flattery that ultimately win if it is not matched with equal wits. The Nightingale was incapable of seeing through his schemes and perished, while the Frog got back his song and his bog.
