In meiosis
(a) division of nucleus twice but replication of DNA only once
(b) division of nucleus twice and replication of DNA twice
(c) division of nucleus once and replication of DNA is also once
(d) division of nucleus once and DNA - replication is twice.. explain

Dear student.

The correct answer is (a) division of nucleus twice but replication of DNA only once.

Meiosis is a special type of cell division occur in eukaryotes during sexual reproduction. In this type of cell division the cell undergoes two stages meiosis I and meiosis II and single cell give rise to four new cells. In meiosis I the number of chromosomes in two new formed cell reduced to half hence this stage is known as a reductional division. In stage two (meiosis II) there is a equational division of genetic material means the number of chromosomes remain same.

In meiosis, one cell divides twice to form four daughter cells.

Regards.
