In an LCR A.C Circuit , the reactance of L and C are 160 ohm and 130 ohm respectively and R is 40 ohm .
Find the impedence of the circuit.
The impedance is given as
Z = [R2 + (XL - XC)2] 1/2
where
R = 40 ohms
XL = 160 ohms
XC = 130 ohms
so,
Z = [(40)2 - (160 - 30)2 ]1/2
or
Z = [1600 - 900]1/2
thus, the impedance of the LCR circuit would be
Z = 50 ohms
