IF x+y=9 and xy=16,find the value of(x2+y2)

 x2+ y2 = (x+y)2 - 2xy

=92- 32=81-32=49

 thumbs up plss

So,

(x+y)2 =(9)2

x2+y2+2(xy) = 81

x2+y2+2(16)=81

x2+y2+32=81

x2+y2=81-32

x2+y2=49

Given, x+y=9 and xy=16.

We know, (a+b)2=a2+2ab+b2.

Then,
(x+y)²=x²+2xy+y²
⟹  (9)²=x²+2(16)+y²
⟹  81=x²+32+y²
⟹  x²+y²=81−32=49.
