If x-y = 7 and xy = 9, Find the value of (x^2+y^2). Explain it.

Hi Alankrit!

It is known that (xy)2 = x2 + y2 – 2xy
⇒ 72 = x2 + y2 – 2 × 9
x2 + y2 = 49 + 18 = 67

Thus, the value of the expression x2 + y2 is 67.

Hope! This will help you.
Cheers!!!

It should be x -y = 8

x *y = 9

x = 9

y = 1

9^2 + 1^2

81  + 1

82

  • -3

no!! its x-y = 7
