if the surface area of a cube is 486 cm sq, find its volume?

pls answer me soon as i hav exam tomorrow

Consider the cube depicted below:

Where is length of edge of the cube.

It is given that surface area

Volume of a cube

Thus volume of the given cube = 729 cubic cm.

  • 0

 Surface area of square = 486 cm sq.

that is,

6 (axa) = 486

axa= 486/6

a square= 81

root of a = 9

Therefore,

a=9

Volume= 9x9x9 (lengthxbreadthxheight)

=81X9

=729

Hope this helps

(0).(0)

  • 0

surface area of cube = 6 X (s)2

where "s" is the side of the cube.

therefore,

6s2 = 486

hence, s2 = 81

=> s = 9 cm

therefore volume = (s)3  {as all the dimensions have same length}

= (9)3

= 729 cm3

hope it helps!!

cheers!!!

thumbs up plzz...
