if in the adjustment the market value of Investment is 4500 and in old balance sheet investment are 7000 then we record 2500 in revaluation in Dr side or not and plz tell me why?

Hi Adya, you and Sankar are absolutely correct that it should be recorded on the debit side of Revaluation Account. The decrease in the value of investments (assets) implies a loss to the firm, thus, it will be debited to Revaluation Account.
yes to Sankar for correct answer!!!

Yes you are correct, it's written in debit side of the revaluation a/c as the journal entry is,

Revaluation a/c Dr. 2500
To Investment a/c 2500

The decrease in value of investment refers that it is loss which transferred to revaluation a/c.
