How sustainable development & increase in absolute poverty are relating ?

Anshu,

To achieve sustainable development, removal of poverty is a mandatory condition. The agenda of 2030 prepared for the sustainable development aimed to solve the problem of poverty. It aimed to decrease the number of people living under poverty atleast by half. So we can say that sustainable development can be achieved by removing the poverty. Poverty is the reason of high population growth in India. Poor people think that an additional child in the family will help to generate an additional income for them without knowing that an increase in population exploits more natural resources and lessen the production capability for the upcoming generation. Poverty is also the reason behind the growing slums throughout the country. This also leads to environmental degradation in the sense that they exploit a wide range of underground water and also release the household waste into water bodies. To achieve sustainable development, environmental degradation should not be there and to solve the problem of environmental degradation, we need to take poverty as a challenge and make efforts to remove it.
