State or regional parties contribute to the strengthening of federalism and democracy in India as : # A country has got many local issues that a national government can't handle alone . For this there must be constituent units. The national parties hence form an alliance with the regional parties. # These help in reducing the burden of national government and also help people especially the marginalised groups and women to raise their voice. # Regional and state parties ensure that the national government doesn't use the powers unnecessarily which makes the country even more democratic and contributes to the strengthening of federalism and democracy. # They provide a variety of choice to people as they have different agendas and focus on separate issues. # They provide a platform for different social groups and communities to put for their demands. # They help by sharing power of government with the help of coalition government. Example - Janata Dal United , Sikkim Democratic Front, etc . (You can add more of your choice or your own) You can refer to page no 81 in NCERT Democratic Politics - II Class X (CBSE) for more details. Thank You Hope this answer is helpful to you. .
