How did Zollverein strengthen the national sentiments in the German state?
Zolleverin commonly known as German Customs Union was formed in the year 1834 at the initiative of Prussia and was later joined by almost all German states.
It abolished number of currencies from thirty to two facilitating economic development and hence promoting nationalist sentiments. Large number of currencies was a barrier in economic growth so creation of Zolleverin enhanced the growth and unhindered movement of people & currency along the borders.
