How did the construction of any monument generate employment opptunties during medival period

During the medieval period, many great dynasties ruled over India whose rulers were very much fond of monuments and architecture. The building of monuments required a lot of raw materials as well as manual labour. As machines and other technology were not available in those days, the construction of monuments completely relied on the manual workforce. Therefore, whenever a particular monument was constructed, a large number of labour force were being engaged to build it which in return helped in generating employment opportunities for all those workers.
