How democracies are very much different from each other in terms of their social situationd, economic achievements and their cultures?

Dear Student,

a. Democracy is certainly the most popular form of government for the very reason it allows for the participation of people and establishes government based on popular consent.
b. There are certain minimum features and tenets which all democracies across the globe endorse, yet they may differ in terms of economic achievement, in terms of their culture and social situation
c. We may give example of USA, which is indeed the oldest democracy and India which is the largest democracy in the World.
d. Both the countries embrace social, political, economic equality, liberty , rule of law, rights of the individual yet they differ in terms of economic growth, with US by far the most economically advanced country
e. India on the other hand is still a developing country , encountering problems of poverty, illiteracy, unemployment, regional backwardness
f. If we compare economic situation of both these democracies, we analyse that both India and USA are on a distinct trajectory of growth and progress.
g. Similarly, political culture, social culture of  both the countries vary, both countries have different forms of government like US has presidential and India Parliamentary, further while USA is open and liberal in many aspects of society, India on the other hand still  is based on certain norms, traditions, taboos etc
h. We may also give example of how both democracies endorse different concepts of secularism, with US identifying complete segregation between religion and state.
i.  With regard to their social situation, India witnesses different problem of accommodating diversity in terms of region, religion, language etc, USA on the other hand faces problems of racial discrimination and challenge to accommodate Blacks in its social and political structure
j. Thus, the above analysis certainly helps us to draw conclusion, that while both India and USA are democracies, countries differ in terms of their social political tradition and economic growth story
