It can be said that the old lady was greedy because even though she already had a big baked cake, she didn't give it to the hungry Saint, thinking that it would be too big to give. She in fact tried hard to save the dough as much as she could and finally took a little scrap of the dough to roll it flat. She was still unable to offer it which was as thin as a wafer. This shows nothing but greediness of the lady.
