how can we say that india is a democratic country??? state reasons.....

India is a democratic country because :

• Elections are held after a period of five years. 
• Citizens are provided with a choice for chooisng their representative. In other words, in India many political parties participate in elections. 
• People enjoy freedom of speech and expression.
• All the citizens of India are treated equally.
