How can we identify the type of root and venation using the number of cotyledons? 

Dear student.

Monocot have single cotyledon, while dicot has two cotyledons.

Monocots have parallel venation while dicots have reticulate venation.

Taproot system is present in dicots,  fibrous root system is present in monocotyledonous plants.
