How are the basic salts are formed ?

Solution:

Basic salts are formed by the reaction of a strong base with a weak acid.

Ex.  NaOH + H2CO3 --> Na2CO3 + H2O.

NaOH is strong base, H2CO3 is weak acid and Na2CO3 is a basic salt.

Dear student ,
A basic salt is formed by the neutralization reaction between a weak acid and a strong base . The pH of am aqueous solution of a basic salt is greater than 7 .
For example :- NaOH (aq) + CH3COOH (aq) -----> CH3COONa(aq) + H2O (l)
Hope it will help you
