HI,

HOW TO CONSTRUCT TWO PARALLEL LINES GEOMETRICALLY BY USING MY COMPASS?

Dear Student!

Here is the answer to your query.

To construct parallel lines using compass steps of construction are as follows

Step I : Draw a ray AB.

Step II : With centre A any radius draw on arc cutting AB at C.

Step III : With centre C and same radius draw an arc cutting the previous arc at D.

Step IV : Join AD and produce it to point E.

Step V : Now with centre E and any radius draw an arc cutting AE at F.

Step VI : With centre F and same radius draw an arc cutting the previous arc at G.

Step VII : Join EG and produce it to obtain ray EH.

Now EH || AB because ∠EAB = ∠AEH = 60° (Alternate Opposite angles)

Cheers!

 I think there is a mistake in the above explanation. The radius which we took at the time of constructing an arc by taking A and C as a centre that radius only has to be taken while making arc GF and that all............
