Give an account of the entry of a stranger into the village after the invisible
man’s escape from that place.

As the merriments are going on, a stranger enters the village from the downs. He is short and stout and is out of breath as he proceeds towards the inn. He goes into the parlour and when Mrs Hall informs him it is a private room, he moves out of the inn. He leans against the gate post and lights a pipe.
