Forests are called the lungs of the Earth. Collect information covering about ways to conserve forest

Solution:

Forests have been called the 'lungs of the earth' because trees take carbon dioxide out of the air and replace it with oxygen. This is vital for humans, as we need oxygen in the air to breathe. The plants release oxygen through the process of photosynthesis. The plants provide oxygen for animal respiration and also absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. Hence, forests are known as Green Lungs or Lungs of the Earth.

Different ways to conserve forests are as follows:
  • Prohibition of Deforestation.
  • Prevention of Forest fires.
  • Prevent the wastage of timber and fuel wood.
  • Grazing of cattle in the forest should be discouraged.
  • Reforestation.
  • Prohibition of cutting of trees.
  • Large afforestation should be done in areas unfit for agriculture.
