Parties membership is open to all citizens, thereby it is easier for common people to get associated with any party and play an active role. For them parties is a link between people and government.

b. Parties provide access to people to government machinery.
c. Ordinary citizens can also vent their grievances to local party leaders with regard to any policy and its implementation.
d. Party in power make people aware about its welfare schemes, it wants people to know about its achievements, its schemes and avail its benefits
e. Opposition compel party in power to work for the welfare of people.
f. They can also help in shaping and forming public opinion and can contribute towards alert vigilant citizenry
