find mean of first 15 natural numbers

firstly the first 15 natural numbers are 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 , 5 , 6 , 7 , 8 , 9 , 10 , 11 , 12 , 13 , 14 , 15.

now, mean = sum of the numbers / total number of numbers

= 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 5 + 6 + 7 + 8 + 9 + 10 + 11 + 12 + 13 + 14 + 15 / 15

= 120 / 15

= 8

Therefore the mean of first 15 natural numbers is 18.

As we now that the natural numbers are those numbers which are used for counting i.e. 1,2,3, 4,etc.

So Mean = Sum of numbers divided by total number of numbers.

Mean = Sum of first fifteen natural numbers / total number of numbers

Formula for finding the sum of natural numbers = Sn = n(n+1)/2, where n = number of the numbers

Mean = n(n+1)/2 / n

Mean = 15(15 + 1)/2 / 15

= (15 x 16)/2 / 15

= 240/2 x 1/15

= 240/30 = 8

Ans: 8.
