Explain the lines:

"I was in a room I knew, and didnot know."

The author knew the room because the room was filled with things that were familiar to the author. But at the same time, there was a strangeness in that familiarity. The way the things were arranged and put together disoriented the author. Hence, she was overwhelmed  by contradictory feelings.
