The industrialization age was considered as 19th century. Hence whatever system of Industrialisation occurred before that is known as protoindustrialization.
Features of Proto-Industrialization were the following:
a) Merchants used to perform the trading
b) Each house-holds were busy performing the task of manufacturing such as a few were staplers, a few were fullers, etc.
c) Each merchant used to have a fixed number of workers
d) The cost of goods depended on the bargaining between merchant and workers
e) Independency in trading was visible.
