Explain that embryonal protection and care are comparatively better in viviparous then oviparous organism?

Oviparous organisms lay eggs which hatch outside the body. For example, birds, reptiles ( lizards) etc. lay eggs whereas viviparous organisms like human and all other mammals give birth to their young ones.

Though, the eggs hatched by the oviparous organisms are covered by hard shells of calcium carbonate for protection, sometimes shells may break (by falling down, predators, natural calamities etc.) and the young ones get exposed to the environment before attaining the certain stage of maturity. They even may die in this situation.

But in viviparous organisms the young ones are delivered out of the body after attaining a certain age. Till then they were kept protected inside the mother’s embryo. Thus, the embryonic care and protection is far better in viviparous organisms. The survival rate of these young ones is higher than that of oviparous organisms.
