explain oospores, zoospores, ascospores and basidiospores. Plz rply fast..
1.Oospores- It is a sexual spore, which develops from the fertilised oophere of some algae or fungi.
2. Zoospores- These are the asexual motile spores. Zoospores use the flagellum for the locomotion. These are produced by some algae, fungi and bacteria.
3.Ascospores-- These are the spores generated in the ascus or contained inside the ascus. These kind of spores are specific for the fungi ascomycetes.
4.Basidiospores-- These are the spores produced by the fungi belongs to the basidiomycetes. These are produced by the special cells called basidia and are haploid in nature.
