It is not clear what is meant by the noncooperation movement failed. The noncooperation movement launched by Mahatma Gandhi in 1921 was a great success all over the country. It drew millions of the people from towns and villages into the freedom struggle. People stopped cooperation with the British government. Many people quit their government jobs and withdrew from government schools and colleges.
