Experts pl explain elaborately ,what is the diff. between sharing ,gaining and losing of electrons ?

losing electrons means to give electrons to other atom. for eg na gives it one electron to complete its octet
sharing electrons means to share electrons to other atom .for eg C neeeds 4 electrons to compete  its octet so it is share share with  other c which also needs 4 elecrons to complete its octet
