Solution:

Ans. Option 1) is correct: Statement I is correct but Statement II is incorrect.

Amphibians, Reptiles as well as Crocodiles are oviparous in nature.
(Oviparous organisms are the ones which lay eggs and the development of zygote is outside the body of the parent, in the calcareous egg. Examples are reptiles, birds and amphibians.)

The Amphibian and Reptiles heart is three-chambered that allows for some separation of oxygenated and deoxygenated blood.

Crocodiles are unusual large reptiles. They have four-chambered heart because of the extraordinary blood circulation they exhibit:
1. They spend most of their time in water. When underwater, they need to save the oxygen. They can do so by reducing the blood flow and heart rate (1-2 heartbeats per minute) which is only possible with the presence of four-chambered heart.
2. When it comes up, its heart beat becomes normal in seconds which is also due to presence of four-chambered heart. Crocodiles need faster blood circulation without mixing of oxygenated and deoxygenated blood.
