DIFFERENTIATE BETWEEN EVAPORATION AND BOILING.

GIVE 2-3 POINTS

Hi,

The differences between evaporation and boiling can be illustrated by the following points-

1. Evaporation occurs on the surface of the liquid whereas boiling occurs at the entire mass of the liquid.
2. Boiling occurs rapidly whereas evaporation is a slow process.
3. Evaporation occurs at any temperature whereas boiling occurs at a specific temperature.
4. The motion of particles is fast in boiling whereas in evaporation few particles move slowly and few at a faster rate.
5. There is formation of bubbles in boiling, but bubbles are not seen in case of evaporation.

For example, Rainwater evaporates from warm pavement after a thunderstorm. While bubbling water or bubbling gravy are examples of boiling.

Evaporation:

  1. Evaporation is a surface phenomenon.
  2. It occurs at any temperature below boiling point.
  3. It is affected by temperature, wind speed, humidity, surface area and nature of substance.

Boiling:

  1. Boiling is a bulk phenomenon.
  2. It occurs only at boiling point.
  3. It is affected by only atmospheric pressure.

evapouration occurs over its boiling point

it is a surface phenomenon

more the area faster the evaporation

boiling  occurs at 100 degree celsius

it is a bulk phenomenon

it is not resistant to atmospheric pressure

it is a biu

Ordinary evaporation is a surface phenomenon - since the vapor pressure is low and since the pressure inside the liquid is equal to atmospheric pressure plus the liquid pressure, bubbles of water vapor cannot form. But at the boiling point, the saturated vapor pressure is equal to atmospheric pressure, bubbles form, and the vaporization becomes a volume phenomena.

Evaporation-1. It occurs at aLL TEMPERATURE. 2. It requires less energy. 3. It is a slow process. 4. It is a silent process.

BOILING- 1. It occurs at a particular temperature. 2. It require more energy. 3. It is a fast process. 4. It is a noisy process.

HOPE THIS MUCH POINTS IS SUFFICENT FOR YOU.
