MULTIPLE CROPPING: By multiple cropping farmers grow different crops on same piece of land.

Multiple Cropping: To grow more than one crop on a piece of land during the same year is called as 'Multiple cropping'. With the improvement of irrigational facilities as a result of better availability of electricity, farmers are able to grow two main crops i.e. Kharif (rice, millets, maze etc.) and Rabi crops (wheat, barley, etc.). Many farmers are also growing a third crop i.e. potato, in between these two. This is a better method of crop improvement than modern farming methods.

 Mixed cropping:
A cropping system that uses more than one type of crop, growing simultaneously, on the same piece of land at the same time.

 Mixed Cropping

Mixed cropping is growing of two or more crops simultaneously on the same piece of land.

mixed cropping: when a farmer grows a particular crop for a season then there are chances of it to get affected by a a disease pathogen which can cause the labour of the farmer to go waste. So in order to avoide that they grow two or more crops in the same plot so if rice aand wheat are grown in the same land then if rice gets infected then the same disease / infection will not be passed on to wheat . SO even if the rice crop is destroyed the farmer still has the wheat crops to sell which also saves a lot of money and labour for the farmer.

Mixed cropping allows two or more crops to be sowed simultaneously in the same land. Wheat and gram, wheat and mustard, ground nut and sunflower etc. are some common examples of mixed cropping.
