did sam really go to galesberg of 19th century?

The story in this chapter can be understood on various levels.  If you consider the part of Charley reaching the 'third level' a figment of his imagination and a waking-dream wish fulfillment, then  we may say that Sam did not go to Galesburg of 19th century. However, if you consider that Charley actually reach the 'third level', then we have to consider that Sam was also able to reach Galesburg of 19th century.
