Describe the friendship between Khushwant Singh and his grandmother. 120 words

Dear Student,
The solution to your query is as given below:

In the village, the author and his grandmother were good friends. They were constantly together when author's parents left him to live in the city.  His grandmother took great care of him when he was little and lived with him in the village; she dressed him for school, accompanied him on the way there and back, helped him with his studies and taught him prayers by singing to him every morning.  They would set out together, he would go to his school and she would go to the temple and come home together as well. Their relationship became strained when the author moved to the city. He started going to an English medium school and she could no longer help him with his studies. She had a poor impression of his new school, as it did not teach the students about the scriptures. When he later started taking music lessons, she disapproved of it by stating that music was only for the beggars and harlots. They gradually grew apart and she would spend her day alone, chanting prayers.

Regards
