Describe how hydroenergy can be converted into electrical energy. write any 2 limitations of hydroenergy.

Hi charu
See the kinetic energy of flowing water is used to turn the blade of turbines which produces energy.
Basically kinetic energy gets coverted into mechanical energy and then into electrical energy

The limitations are-
1) Due to the construction of dams large scale plants and animals get submerged and then get rot to produce methane which is again a green house gas.
2) Construction of dams lead to unsatisfactory re-habillation.

Hydropower plants capture the energy of falling water to generate electricity. A turbine converts the kinetic energy of falling water into mechanical energy. Then a generator converts the mechanical energyfrom the turbine into electrical energy. Hope you liked my answer

Limitations of hydro energy 1) Only few sites have the potential of Geothermal Energy. 2) Most of the sites, where geothermal energy is produced, are far from markets or cities, where it needs to be consumed. 3) Total generation potential of this source is too small. 4) There is always a danger of eruption of volcano. 5) Installation cost of steam power plant is very high.
