Decentralisation is an extension of delegation of authority. Explain

Decentralisation is extension of delegation. Systematic delegation will result in evenly distribution of authority and responsibility at every level..which leads to decentralisation. As in delegation only two parties are involved. It is confined to manager and his subordinates, whereas in decentralisation employees working at different levels are involved which means almost all the employees in the organisation are involved in the process of decentralisation.

Delegation is the distribution of authority by one superior to his subordinate. It is on an individual level while decentralization is the same thing on the organizational level. In case of decentralization also the superior (management) delegates decision making authority to the subordinate (lower level employees). So basically decentralization is an extension of delegation.
