Dear experts,
I need some words which can be used in a poem related to trees to show personification, alliteration, Metaphors, simile, onametapeia, refrain and other figures of speech. Please provide me the meaning of it . I just have 4 more days in my hand.
Such questions need to be attempted on your own to test your creative writing skills. However, these points might help you elaborate:
- Personification: write the poem in the first person narrative, where the tree is the narrator. Give it prson-like qualities. For example: the axe cut through my veins; I wail, I cry; etc.
- Alliteration: Repetition of the same sound for peotic effect. For example: fiery flames burn my leaves; the glossy green grasshopper on my leaves; etc.
- Metaphor: comparison between two dissimilar things, where one thing becomes another. For example: people are monsters that cut me down; etc.
- Simile: comparison between two disimilar things by using the words 'as, like, so'. For example: my roots as deep as the ocean, etc.
- Onomatopoeia: the sound of the word expresses the meaning. For example: rustling leaves; crack and snap of the branches, etc.
- Refrain: repeat the same sentence again and again throughout the poem for emphasis. For example: I stand tall and proud!
