Between investment and capital which is the stock and which is flow variable. Explain with an illustration. I'm not able to understand what to illustrate in this question

Dear student,

Stock refers to those variables that are measured at a particular point of time. They do not have an element of time attached to them. For example, capital is a stock variable. For instance, it is measured as capital balance as on March 31st, 2017

On the other hand, flow refers to those variables that are measured over a period of time. They have an element of time attached to them, For example, investment is a flow variable. For instance, it measured as investment during month of March.
