Are the cells in an elephant larger than the cells in a rat? Why?

No the cells of an elephant and a rat are of the same size because all the cells are of thew same size .It is only that a rat has less number of cells while an elephant has more number of cells

Typically, larger mammals do not have bigger cells, they just have more of them. Liver cells, red blood cells and other types of cells that divide often are about the same size, just more permanent. Cells such as brain and fat cells tend to be larger in large mammals. Therefore, most cells that are in an elephant are the same size as a mouse, excluding a few exceptions

No, it is not that every cell of an elephant be larger than cells in a rat. However, the total number of cells in an elephant is greater than that in a rat.

The size of cells in both the animals are same.Only number of cells differ.Elephants has more cells while rat has very less cells compare to elephant.

Because of cell division

yes , the no of cellsvary no the size only expectinf a few

the cells in an elephant are not larger because all the cells are of same size only the thing that varies is that the body of elephant can support more tissues, organs or organ systems

*The size of cell is related to its function. For eg. nerve cell, both in the elephant and rat are long and branched .They perform the@same function, that of transfering messages.*

It is not necessary that the cells in the elephant be much bigger than those in rat. The size of cell is related to its function.e.g. nerve cell, both in the elephant and rat are long and branched. They perform the same function, that of transferring messages.
