Dear Diary,

As I was waiting to cross the road to walk to the lane where my school is located, my eyes fell on an old woman, her faces contorted with anxiety and fear. She was looking at the cars coming to and fro and unsure of how to cross the road. I understood her situation and walked up next to her, took her gnarled hand in mine and smiled. She looked up to me and relief coursed through her eyes. I put up a hand to stop an approaching car and helped her cross the street. The cars stopped for us when the saw what I was doing and once we had reached the other side safely, it was only then that she let my hand go. She touched my shoulder and turned me around to face her and hugged me. There were tears in her eyes. She didn't seem old to me then, she looked as beautiful as a small child looking with loving eyes at a parent.
