$Suppose x soldiers were left in the fort after transferring some soldiers Then, number of transfered soldiers=(500-x) The given information can be represented in table form$

$Since less numbre of soldiers will finish food in more days So,it is case of inverse variation ∴ 500 \times 24 = x \times 32 \Rightarrow x = \frac{500 \times 24}{32} \Rightarrow x = 375 Hence, the number of transfered soldiers=500 - 375 = 125$
