3. What is a miniature painting? When did the art of painting declined in the medieval period?

Dear Student

1.   Miniature paintings, as the name suggests, are paintings in small sized and they are done with water colours on cloth, paper etc
2.  These paintings were simple which in due course of time, due to rise in their popularity more information in the form of pictures were illustrated
3.  With patronage of Mughals, the stories of hunting expeditions, life of kings were depicted colourfully in miniature paintings.
4.  Almost all the Mughal Emperors like Akbar, Shah Jahan, Jahangir encouraged paintings and construction of buildings. But, during the reign of Aurangzeb arts and painting  lost their importance which made the artists lose their work and move on to other places for work
